Get to know us

We are educators, consultants, naturalist, and outdoor enthusiasts. We have been traveling to Cape Cod and the islands for 30 years. We choose the Cape as our destination for all things outdoors because Cape Cod is a place where geology, wind, water, and time are always at work.

The wind-shaped pitch pines lean and twist in quiet resilience. Rosa rugosa lines the trails in summer, bright and fragrant against the sand. The salt marshes breathe with the tide — expanding and retreating like a living organism. Dune systems shift and reform, reminding us that landscapes are never static.

Shorebirds ride the thermals above the dunes, and cranberry bogs reflect the sky in autumn. Kettle ponds — left behind by retreating glaciers — hold clear, still water that tells the story of deep time. The glacial history of this landscape is written everywhere, if we learn to notice it.

Cape Cod invites attention. It rewards patience. It asks us to look closely at what wind and water have shaped. It is a remarkable classroom.
