Anaka brings creativity, patience, and a deep respect for childhood development to Outer Cape Wild Walks. With a background in visual arts and a degree in film, and now a Waldorf teacher, she has spent much of her life exploring the ways that art, storytelling, and the natural world intersect. Her creative practice includes film, sculpture, painting, and design, and she believes that artistic expression is one of the most powerful ways children learn to observe and connect with the world around them.

Anaka grew up within the Waldorf school system, an educational tradition that emphasizes imagination, hands-on learning, and a deep relationship with nature. This experience shaped her philosophy as both a parent and an educator. When raising her son, she felt strongly about bringing the Waldorf perspective into his life and into the learning environments she helped create for other children.

Over the years, Anaka has dedicated herself to early childhood education, where her calm presence and thoughtful teaching style have made her a beloved mentor to young learners. She believes that children thrive when they are given time to explore, create, and discover the natural world at their own pace.

At Outer Cape Wild Walks, Anaka serves as the Children’s Walk Coordinator and Lead Instructor. She designs and leads experiences that allow children to engage with nature through creativity and exploration. Her programs often include Waldorf-inspired activities such as handwork, watercolor painting, and natural design, all guided by the rhythms and textures of the Cape Cod landscape. Under Anaka’s guidance, children are invited to slow down, observe closely, and create with their hands. Whether they are gathering natural materials, painting the colors of the dunes and forests, or simply discovering something new along the trail, her goal is to help children form meaningful and lasting connections with nature.

Children leave Anaka’s walks not only with something they have made, but with memories of curiosity, creativity, and discovery that stay with them long after the walk ends. Through her warmth, artistic vision, and dedication to childhood learning, Anaka helps make Outer Cape Wild Walks a place where creativity, nature, and education come together.

“Receive the children in reverence, educate them in love, and send them forth in freedom.”
