What to Bring on Your Walk

Our walks are designed to be relaxed, enjoyable, and accessible. Most routes are approximately 3 miles at a moderate pace, with time to stop, observe wildlife, and explore the landscape. Bringing a few simple items will help ensure you stay comfortable throughout the experience.

Recommended Items

1) Small Backpack or Daypack
A light backpack allows you to comfortably carry water and any personal items you may need.

2) Water
Hydration is important, especially on warm or humid days. We recommend bringing at least one full water bottle.

3) Comfortable Walking Shoes
Trail shoes, hiking shoes, or sturdy sneakers with good grip are ideal. Some trails may include sand, roots, or uneven ground.

4) Weather-Appropriate Clothing
Cape Cod weather can change quickly. Dress in layers when appropriate and check the forecast before your walk.

5) Sun Protection
Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are strongly recommended, particularly during summer walks.

6) Bug Spray
In warmer months, insects can occasionally be present along wooded or marsh trails.

7) Camera or Phone (Optional)
You may want to capture wildlife, landscapes, or memorable moments along the trail.

8) Notebook or Field Journal (Optional)
Some guests enjoy jotting down observations or sketching plants and animals along the way.

What Your Guide Will Bring

Your guide will also carry additional supplies to ensure a safe and comfortable walk for everyone, including:

  • Extra drinking water

  • A basic first aid kit

  • Navigation tools and trail knowledge

  • Field guides for identifying plants and wildlife

  • Emergency contact equipment if needed

Our goal is for you to relax, slow down, and fully enjoy the natural landscape of Cape Cod, knowing that your guide has the essentials covered.

What Not to Bring

Our walks are designed to be immersive experiences in nature. To help everyone enjoy the quiet beauty of the landscape, we ask guests to avoid bringing items that may distract from the experience.

Large Coolers or Heavy Bags
A light daypack is all you need. Large bags can make the walk uncomfortable and slow the group.

Portable Speakers or Loud Music
Part of the experience is listening to the natural soundscape — birds, wind through the trees, and the ocean in the distance.

Alcohol or Recreational Substances
For safety and group comfort, these are not permitted during guided walks.

Drones
Drones can disturb wildlife and are restricted in many areas of Cape Cod.

Anything Fragile or Valuable
While the trails are safe, sand, wind, and uneven terrain can sometimes be hard on delicate items.

Single-Use Trash
We practice a leave-no-trace approach. Whatever you bring in, please plan to bring back out with you.
